6 weeks in...

Hi everybody! We're 6 weeks into 2009 and I hope you're staying strong. I plateaued at 203 for a couple of weeks (lack of perseverance perhaps?), but have sinced dropped another 3. I'm sitting at 200 lbs and I'm motivated to break the century barrier and drop into the 190s. It's been a while since I've been there!

Two weeks of 2009...gone, baby gone!

2/52 of the way through 2009...how y'all doing? I'm pleased to announce that I have lost another 2 lbs thanks to continued exercise and a little better eating. I still want to to a better job of controlling portions.

I ran three miles yesterday, but unfortunately ended up at the ER with a hypoglycemic reaction which the doc said may have also induced a migraine...boy did my head hurt like it never hurt before. I certainly need to pay close attention to my diabetes! To those of you with health issues, I recommend the same.

One week into 2009!

I hope everyone has had an enjoyable first week of 2009! I'm pleased to post that I have lost three(3) pounds this week and that I was able to find time to exercise at least 1/2 hour each day. I began the week walking and have managed to jog a couple of times, as well.

Eating has been up and down, as I have continued to struggle in the evenings, but I must admit that compared to the holidays I feel as though I'm doing much better...and the scale seems to agree with me ;-)

4 days into 2009!

We're 4 days into 2009 and I've decided to take a good look at myself and identify a couple of areas upon which I need to focus: portion control and morning exercise.

I usually eat a small breakfast, if at all, and a normal lunch. On the other hand, I overeat dinner and snack until bedtime. I'm going to try to improve my dinner mealsize, as well as limit snacking and choose healthier alternatives. With regard to morning exercise, I lose the most weight when I exercise early...but I am NOT a morning person. Therefore, this will require great commitment and perseverance on my part.

Watch my numbers to see if I'm having any success ;-)

For each of you...I challenge you to face yourselves honestly and make lifestyle changes that will help you reach your desired weight! You can do it!

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2009 everybody! The time has come to embark on our weight loss adventure! I'm sure everyone got a kick out of our Christmas Eve pictures...they will be good motivation for me. I'm looking particularly heavy (yes, I was sticking my belly out a tad farther than natural for emphasis) and every time I look at our blog I will be reminded of what we're trying to accomplish. I'll post more later!
